Citric Acid Corporation was originally established in 1947 with the name ChemPlus Incorporated. At the time the company was responsible for buy and refining raw materials including various salts and acids. In 1961 Citric Acid Corporation was established as the re-organized ChemPlus Incorporated and has since functioned under this name.
Originally located on the East Coast of the United States of America, CAC has been moved and is now located in Southern California. The move happened in 1975 when the owner of the company decided that economically it made more financial sense to operate out of the West Coast.
In the early 90's, CAC began its expansion of our Southern California facilities and operated out of a 15,000 square foot facility in the city of Irvine, CA. We've just as recent as 5 years ago, moved to a much larger facility to allow the company to grow accordingly. We are now proud to state that we are located in 60,000 square foot facility that has met our production and delivery needs.
